Match Monday-June 15

The volatility and uncertainty of the past few weeks has left many of us in a tailspin. For many of our nonprofit organizations the resources are depleted, fundraising events have been cancelled and future donations are in question. Now, more than ever, each of us recognize the need for that "rainy day" nest egg that helps us to weather the storms of life.

Legacy believes our distinctive mission is to grow area philanthropic and nonprofit efforts. Our energy and efforts are focused on helping our nonprofit organizations to be successful and sustainable - now and in the future. A permanent endowment fund can be an important tool in creating that critical safety net and a reliable source of income. That is why Legacy works so diligently in building endowments to create a stronger, healthier and more prosperous region.

Generosity made greater.

June 15 is "Match Monday." For one day, every dollar given to eligible local nonprofit endowments at Legacy will be matched by funds from a local pool, making every gift go further. The 2020 Match Monday pool is $15,000, provided by Legacy Foundation.

To be eligible for a match, donations must be made to an endowed fund held at the Foundation designated for a nonprofit organization. Donors will have access to a list of participating agencies/funds.

When you choose to give to an eligible nonprofit organization (or multiple organizations) on Match Monday, that gift will be matched from the $15,000 pool proportionate to the total amount raised in 24 hours on June 15. A charity can earn up to 20 percent ($3,000) of the pool if contributions to that organization on June 15 equals 20 percent or more of the total amount raised with 50% of the match going to their endowment and 50% distributed now for their operating needs.
