Fourteen Arkansas City High School Seniors Receive Scholarships Through ACE Fund

Arkansas City, KS, May 8, 2013 — Fourteen Arkansas City High School students have received scholarships through the Arkansas City Schools Enhancement (ACE) Fund. Most were awarded on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the ACHS Senior Awards Night.

- The ACE Fund Scholarships were awarded to two students. Rosa Mendez will attend Pittsburg State University to study Biology. Dax Shaw will attend Hutchinson Community College.

- Gene & Sally Burr Scholarship was awarded to Kacy Ternes. He will study Secondary Education.

- Class of '55 Scholarship was awarded to Madison McDowell. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study to become a veterinarian.

- Class of '57 Scholarship was awarded to Lauren Welch. She will attend Kansas State University to study Business and Dental Hygiene.

- Class of '59 Scholarship was awarded to Erin Morris. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study to become a pharmacist.

- Janet English Scholarship was awarded to Janelle Headrick. She will attend Kansas State University to study Architecture or Architectural Engineering.

- Isaacson Family Scholarship was awarded to Sarrah Westenfeld. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study Education.

- Norman & Joline Iverson Family Scholarship was awarded to Marissa Leake. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study Nursing.

- Legacy Community Scholarship was awarded to Kelsey Wallace. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study to become a veterinarian.

- PEO Chapter ER Scholarship was awarded to Courtney Saia. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study to become a doctor.

- Rogers Family Scholarship was awarded to Breanna Leake. She will attend Cowley County Community College to study Dental Hygiene.

- Warren Family Scholarship was awarded to Laci Hadorn. She will attend Pittsburg State University to study to become a doctor.

- Arkansas City Robert Warrender Scholarship was awarded to Austin Pond. He will attend Kansas State University to study Engineering.
