Winfield High School Students Receive Scholarships

Winfield, KS, May 21, 2013 — Five Winfield High School students have received scholarships administered by Legacy Regional Community Foundation.

Avery Osen and Ashley Smith are the recipients of the Legacy Community Scholarship. Each will receive $500. Osen will attend Cowley County Community College to study broadcast journalism. Smith will attend Southwestern College to study elementary education.

Ashton Humbert is the recipient of the Robert Warrender Scholarship. She will receive $1,000 in the first year. This scholarship can continue for a total of four years and $4,000. Humbert will attend Southwestern College to study music education.

Cassie Homan is the recipient of the Marlyn and Blaine Harp Scholarship. She will receive $350. Homan plans to attend Southwestern College and major in Business with a minor in Biology.

Tymon Wall is the recipient of the Nichols-Broadhurst Scholarship. He will receive $1,000. Wall plans to attend the University of Kansas to study political science.
