The 2026 Nonprofit Leadership Cohort (NPLC), a capacity-building program designed for Cowley County–serving nonprofits, service organizations, public agencies, and community groups committed to strengthening their leadership and organizational effectiveness.

Created in partnership with Power of the Purse, the NPLC equips local leaders with practical tools, shared learning, and supportive professional networks to help advance long-term strategic goals and increase their ability to serve the community.

The program is intentionally structured to support organizations across the region, including those that have never received Power of the Purse funding. NPLC focuses on building internal capacity, strengthening operational foundations, and expanding collaborative connections that help organizations grow regardless of their prior grant history.

Participants can expect:

– Stronger grant readiness and fund development skills applicable to a wide range of external funding opportunities.

– Growth in internal capacity, with tools that support clearer planning, communication, and leadership alignment.

– Broader regional connections that lead to new partnerships and shared solutions.

Participants in the 2025 cohort reported that NPLC helped sharpen strategic direction, improve internal systems, and build relationships now shaping their work moving forward.

2026 Program Schedule

The cohort will convene for six sessions in 2026:

Each session focuses on a core area of leadership and organizational development. While the schedule is not monthly, sessions are intentionally spaced to allow participants time to apply workshop concepts and engage with Legacy staff coaches between meetings.
